Each season, Florida Grand Opera brings a fully staged one-act opera to high schools in Broward and Dade counties.! The fall 2007 touring show is a comic farce by Bizet, the composer of the world's most performed opera, Carmen. It's called Doctor Miracle, is performed in English, and is 45 minutes of fun and great music. A Q&A follows the performances, and each student receives a study guide full of info and graphics. This program is free to public schools and available to private schools at a discounted rate. ESSAY CONTEST

If your school has hosted this season's In-School Opera, Doctor Miracle, students and teachers are eligible to enter a contest for a $200 Gift Certificate to Best Buy. After the performance, email Cecelia Schieve at cschieve@fgo.org for the 3 questions and instructions on the brief essay required. Once you have emailed her your answers and essay, you will be entered in the contest. The winner will be chosen and notified on Dec. 15.
