We are proud to partner with Miami-Dade Public Schools Division of Life Skills to present Teacher Development opportunities that serve up to 150 teachers per session at our main headquarters, the Doral Center. The fall and spring Teacher Workshops offer an in-depth exploration of the season’s productions and hands-on learning in specializations such as costumes, wigs and makeup or set design. For all workshops, teacher receive points for re-certification.
What is an aria? What year did Verdi compose Nabucco? How did the Industrial Revolution influence operas in the 19th century?
These are some of the questions that can be answered with our Student Study Guides. In efforts to promote education and critical analysis skills, FGO produces a study guide for each opera. Each guide includes information about the plot, characters and musical themes of the opera, as well as the historical and methodology of each production. The Student Study Guides are based on Common Core State Standards with a focus on opera intergration.
