Students enjoy a full performance as the music, staging and lighting are rehearsed for the last time before Opening Night! Florida Grand Opera also offers teacher workshops designed to help integrate these dress rehearsals into existing classroom curriculums.

Reservations are free and open to all Miami-Dade and Broward Public Schools. Space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. Private and Home schools may contact FGO’s Group Sales about available performance opportunities.

The rehearsals start promptly at 7:30pm. There is no late seating.

Starting this season, we are implementing a new policy. Student tickets for the dress rehearsals will be available at a cost of $1 each. This nominal fee has been established to teach our youth in South Florida the value of the arts as well as instill a feeling of ownership in their cultural experiences.

You are welcome to receive 1 free chaperone ticket for every 10 students. Additional chaperone tickets at $5.

All dress rehearsals start at 7:30pm and will end no later that 11pm. All performances take place at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts in Downtown Miami.

It is strongly recommended that you arrive for the performance no later than 7pm—seating is on a first come, first serve basis and the performance starts promptly at 7:30; late seating will only be possible at certain intervals after the start of the performance and a late arrival means there is the possibility of missing part of the performance.

During intermission the curtain is left up so that audience members make get a sneak peek at the backstage world as the sets are being changed out. This time also serves as an open question and answer session so that any participant make ask questions to the Florida Grand Opera staff and directors.

Every care is taken to create an “opening night” atmosphere for this final run before opening night— attendees are encouraged to dress nicely, but please always dress in what you feel most comfortable in.

Custom study guides are available one month before the performance.
