Cecelia Schieve
Director of Young Artist Studio
Cecelia Schieve joins Florida Grand Opera this season as Director of Young Artist Studio and Education from Anchorage Opera where she held the position of Assistant General Director and Director of Studio Theatre Young Artist Program. Prior to her three year tenure in Alaska, Ms. Schieve was Director of Opera at Boston Conservatory. Specializing in training emerging professional singers, her other former academic positions include: the Universities of Maryland, Kent State and Wisconsin (Madison); New England Conservatory and Longy School of Music. Non-academic stage direction credits include Central City Opera, Ashlawn-Highland Festival, Merrimack Lyric, Artpark, Buffalo Opera, Brown Bag Opera, Chautauqua Institute, Miami Opera and The Washington National Opera, Kennedy Center.
Ms. Schieve is a regular adjudicator for the Metropolitan Opera Auditions and the National Teachers of Singing Scholarship Auditions.
